Cantus Cölln

Buxtehude  Herzlich lieb hab' ich dich, o Herr
Buxtehude  Membra Jesu nostri

That the distinguished Cologne-based vocal and instrumental ensemble Cantus Cölln has not performed at the Festival since 1994 is a state of affairs we simply could not allow to continue. They make their welcome return with music by one of the most influential and refined North European composers of the 17th century, including his beautiful, unusual and profoundly touching cycle of seven Passiontide cantatas meditating on different parts of Christ's body.

'Cantus Cölln could sing the telephone directory and still be convincing.'

Tickets £30, £24, £18, £12

This concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and will be available for online listening for 7 days after the broadcast via BBC iPlayer.
