Both concerts this evening feature young British performers who have achieved something of celebrity status in the early music world.

First, a recital by Andrew Manze - dubbed 'the first modern superstar of the baroque violin' - with charismatic harpsichordist Richard Egarr. Their programme includes three of Bach's great works for violin and obbligato harpsichord together with Manze's reconstruction of the famous organ Toccata and Fugue in D minor, now thought to have been another composer's work, originally written for solo violin.
